We are seeking a Licensed Psychiatrist to join our team!

JOB SUMMARY: The Psychiatrist is responsible for providing supervision and consultation to the Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners and clinical nursing staff providing psychiatric services at Wingspan. The Psychiatrist may also provide direct provision of psychiatric services, if needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  1. Provide the direct clinical supervision of Agency residents, psychiatric fellows, and psychiatric nurse practitioners.
  2. May also provide direct service to clients, such as outpatient services if needed.

OTHER DUTIES:

  1. Attend scheduled staff meetings, supervision, and on-going training.
  2. All required trainings, certifications and licensure must be kept current in accordance with applicable licensing and accreditation regulations and standards.
  3. Respect the privacy of clients and hold in confidence all information obtained during the client’s treatment.  All client-related documents should be handled in accordance with Agency guidelines on confidential material.
  4. Maintain high standards of ethical and professional conduct and adhere to Agency policies and procedures.
  5. Other duties as assigned by management.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

  • Board certified Psychiatrist; board certified in child and adolescent psychiatry and/or successful experience in the practice and management of child and adolescent psychiatry. 
  • Medical degree from an accredited medical school and completion of an approved psychiatric residency.

Licensure:

  • Licensed to practice medicine by the State of Ohio.
  • Licensed to prescribe psychotropic medication by the DEA.

Skills:

  • Sensitivity in relating to persons of varying backgrounds and demonstrated ability to work with diverse groups of people possessing various strengths, aptitudes and abilities.
  • Ability to perform job responsibilities with a high degree of initiative and independent judgment.
  • Demonstrated oral and written communication skills and effective interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in using Agency computer systems and software as required to perform essential job functions.
  • Practical and creative problem solving skills.

Experience: 2 years’ experience working full-time as a psychiatrist in child/adult psychiatry preferred.
