QUALIFICATIONS:
 
  1. Education:Minimum Bachelors’ Degree required. Master’s Degree in Social Work or related field preferred.
  2. Licensure:  Valid Ohio LSW or LPC, LISW or PCC preferred.
  3. Skills:  Strong clinical skills including expertise in systemic family therapy, crisis intervention, family education, behavioral interventions, and substance abuse therapy.
    Sensitivity in relating to persons of varying backgrounds and demonstrate ability to work with diverse groups of people possessing various strengths, aptitudes and abilities.
    Ability to perform job responsibilities with a high degree of initiative and independent judgment.
    Demonstrated oral and written communication skills and effective interpersonal skills.
    Proficiency in using Agency computer systems and software as required to perform essential job functions.
    Practical and creative problem solving skills.
  4.  Experience: Experience in clinical diagnosis and assessment.
    3-5 years experience in mental health field. Experience working with children, adolescents and their families.

SUMMARY:

The Intake Specialist engages members and/ or member families to offer care coordination services through OhioRISE and initiates the completion of the (Child and Adolescent Needs and Strengths) CANS assessment and intake paperwork.  The Intake Specialist is a key member of the Care Management Entity (CME) to help members get connected to OhioRISE services and improve the lives of families and members served.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
 
  1. Initiate clinical assessment (CANS) based on verbal, written, and/or face-to-face interviews to determine appropriate level of treatment for client.   
  2. Manage a diverse caseload of all types of referrals, representing the Agency’s service array.
  3. Provide face-to-face admission with clients and guardian.  Entails completing all required clinical and administrative paperwork.
  4. Assist in maintaining full census in CME.
  5. Make recommendations of agencies in the community or across the country should the need arise if Bellefaire JCB is unable to cover the needed service.
  6. Assist in departmental coverage of the incoming referrals, outreach and CANS assessments.

OTHER DUTIES:
  1. Attend scheduled staff meetings, supervision, and on-going trainings.  Intake staff often assesses clients in schools, homes and other programs.
  2. Maintain all required trainings, certifications and licensure. All must be kept current in accordance with applicable licensing and accreditation regulations and standards.
  3. Contribute to the development and maintenance of the clinical record through the timely completion of assigned documentation in accordance with applicable licensing and accreditation regulations and standards.
  4. Respect the privacy of clients and hold in confidence all information obtained during the client’s treatment.  All client-related documents should be handled in accordance with Agency guidelines on confidential material.
  5. Maintain high standards of ethical and professional conduct and adhere to Agency policies and procedures.
  6. Other duties as assigned by management.
