Safety and Compliance Coordinator

JOB SUMMARY:

The Safety & Compliance Coordinator conducts drills and life safety inspections at various Agency locations and campuses under the scope of Wingspan Care Group. Such inspections and drills must be conducted accordance with established codes for fire and life safety. The Safety & Compliance Coordinator ensures that documentation is received, maintained, and filed in a timely matter to ensure appropriate compliance requirements and availability.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
 
  1. Conduct evacuation, tornado and safety drills at all Agency affiliate locations in accordance with accreditation standards of varying days and times, including first, second, and third shift.
  2. Provide training and instruction on life safety procedures, policies, and emergency evacuation plans to all Agency affiliate staff.
  3. Assist in creating employee resources for information relating to drills, alarm systems and inspections.
  4. Maintain complete and accurate records of drills, inspections and training notes.
  5. Communicate drill information to participants and report any issues or concerns to the appropriate supervision.
  6. Ensure that all drills are conducted safely and effectively, following established safety protocols, fire safety laws and regulations, and Agency policies while evaluating staff response.
  7. Inspect and maintain inventory of fire safety equipment such as emergency lights, exit signs and fire extinguishers monthly.
  8. Inspect and maintain inventory of rated doors annually.
  9. Maintain current and accurate records of safety equipment inspections.
  10. Generate work orders for non-compliant safety equipment repairs and ensure that such repairs are timely completed.
  11. Gather water temperature data and record results.
  12. Conduct weekly and monthly generator testing and record results.
OTHER DUTIES:
 
  1. Assist in maintaining key inventory and organize the facility key records.
  2. Assist in maintaining the campus protocols relating to conducting drills.
  3. Assist in creating a campus wide resource for information relating to drills, alarm systems and inspections.
  4. Assist Safety & Security department in special projects and monitoring.
  5. Attend scheduled staff meetings, supervision, and on-going training.
  6. Maintain current, all required trainings, certifications and licensure in accordance with applicable licensing and accreditation regulations and standards.
  7. Respect the privacy of clients and hold in confidence all information obtained during the client’s treatment.  All agency documents should be handled in accordance with Agency guidelines on confidential material.
  8. Maintain high standards of ethical and professional conduct and adhere to Agency policies and procedures.
  9. Other duties as assigned by management.

QUALIFICATIONS:
 
  1. Education: Minimum High School Diploma required. Associate’s Degree preferred.
  2. Licensure: Valid Driver’s license

  • Physical Demands: Must be able to lift 40 lbs. Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
Experience: 3–4-year experience preferred in fire and life safety procedures.
